  • Where do I meet my River Rat Attendant when I arrive at the KP Hole
Go to the "Palm Tree that has Sunglasses all over it" Yes! I said the Palm Tree. One day somebody put their sunglasses on the Palm Tree and then somebody else did and somebody else did and so on and so on. Now it looks like this! :)
  • What does the vehicle look like that will be delivering my equipment or shuttling me.
Your are looking for a White Dodge Ram Truck, normally carrying a trailer or a White Dodge Durango. Both vehicles have "Blue Run Cart Master & River Rat Rentals" decals on both sides.
  • Im Overwhelmed. What is the best way to enjoy the Rainbow River?
The short answer is, stay up! Get in at the K.P. Hole and go up river, not down. The majority of the pictures that you see online are from the upper part of the river. Once you get in at the K.P. Hole you have about a 20 minute paddle and you will see on the right hand side the clearest part of the river that is hip to waist deep. The elders call it "Indian Creek" The Newbies call it "Gissy Spring" and We call it the "Lazy River of the Rainbow River" It is a must see! After exploring the "Lazy River" you will see so much more as the Aqua Blue Water gets more blue and more blue. Grab your go pro or camera and take pictures of the wildlife all around you as you continue to paddle about 40 minutes to the head of the river. I am a 44 year resident of Dunnellon and I still gasp for air and point my finger when I see a family of turtles, otters, beautiful birds and large bass beneath me. The scenery of grooomed homes, jumping trees, and homemade rope swings take you to a mind set of peace, family and comfort. All this before you reach the head of the Rainbow River which is a huge beautiful 25 foot blue lagoon. After taking in the beauty you will simply glide back to the K.P. Hole. I would recommend packing a lunch. Having a picnic under a big oak tree, relaxing in the shade with the perfect view makes for the perfect day.
